While there are countless
cookbooks on the market,
as well as “chick lit” books
about dating etiquette and
escapades, there’s very little
available on the unique topic
of “Dating and Baking”
…until now

"Charting the globe of dating with her country cornfields anecdotes, to big city adventure, to distant Spanish villa's made it important to me to capture Erin's evolution into a sassy, urban woman while paying tribute to her down home charm at heart. Every single recipe in the Happy Baker Book comes alive, all photographed and individually styled with clever titles that reflect some of the touchstone and most memorable moments throughout Erin's life of girl meets boy. With all it's indulgences, the Happy Baker Book will leave you with a sweet taste in your mouth and a big ol' smile upon your face.”

Eden Bluestein, the happy baker prop stylist

I’m not going to get into the
history of baking or chocolate
or sugar.

All you need to know is that I love everything to do with baking.

If any of my recipes are low fat
I’m sorry, it was unintentional.

I use a hammer to gently crush nuts, break up pretzels, chocolate bark… Oh yeah and it’s pink. I like to coordinate my hammer with my apron.

“Chocolate is to Erin what the Cosmo is to Candace. The Happy Baker is a guilty pleasure and a decadent read. Insightful. Witty. Charming and Delightful. This is a girl’s guide to dating and baking 101.

Dina Pugliese, breakfast television host

“Getting up at 4 am is never fun, but when Erin was my make-up artist at Breakfast Television all her stories made that crazy hour a lot more bearable, entertaining and fun. Happily, we got to work together again on my next show so the stories continued...and continued to be just as amusing.  I’m so glad they’re not just for an audience of one anymore and everyone can pick up this charming book and laugh along. And, the recipes are fabulous!”

Liza Fromer, television personality

“The Happy Baker-A Dater's Guide to Emotional Baking is chock-full of juicy stories about boys and even juicier ways to get over them. Mixing up hilarious anecdotes with mouth-watering photos and easy recipes for all things gooey, this book is as entertaining as it is appetizing. With The Happy Baker on hand, breakups aren't looking so bad.”

Hello! Canada

.....................................................................

My First Crush…It was 1979. I was attending the first day of
kindergarten back home in my little village of 900 people
(middle of nowhere, Ontario, Canada). With my Pebbles Flintstone
necklace around my neck, the perfect complement to my brand
new red and blue gingham dress, I was set. I prepared myself
for anything this “school” thing could possibly throw my way
...except him! He was a farm kid, with dark hair, brown eyes
and lips that would make Angelina Jolie jealous. Wow, they
didn’t teach me how to deal with HIM on Sesame Street.
“Ouvre la fenetre” didn’t cut it. As I opened the classroom
window to wave goodbye to my mother, I pondered if I
should attempt to slip out and avoid the serious heartache
I knew I was in for…

The Big Hurt…You know the Big Hurt,
the one where you shout
“I WILL NEVER LOVE AGAIN”

Where you lock yourself up in your place
watching every girly, sappy movie you can
find, only to emerge to buy more wine and
baking ingredients. Yep, that’s the one. I’ve
been there too, more than once. You never
get used to the feeling, like you’ve been punched
in the stomach and you can’t catch your breath…

COMPUTER VS. ME: ROUND 1…Raise your hand if you have been broken up with by e-mail? Wow, nice to know I’m not the only one. You start off with the enjoyment of your morning coffee, followed by visions of throwing your computer out the window, not the greatest way to start your day. Truth is, your computer did nothing wrong. Like the saying goes, “don’t shoot the messenger.” Alright, I may have injured the messenger a little when I slammed my keyboard down. But…

Valentine’s Day/feliz dia de los enamorados...Another Valentine’s Day, alone, no significant other! I don’t care, I don’t need some over-priced, over crowded restaurant to feel loved. I’m more excited for it to be over, so I can get some half-priced chocolate at Wal-Mart. Without fail, the one person who always sends me a Valentine’s Day card is my mom with, of course, a lottery ticket inside. I’m not sure if it’s a small town thing but we seem to give lottery tickets for every celebration. I had just starting making biscotti. The hazelnuts were roasting in the oven. I sat down at my computer to check my lottery ticket…
